Lying Should Be Avoided: 04-23-2025

1. Lying causes a break between yourself and your projected self.
2. Sometimes, you can avoid lying by withholding information that is not necessary or pertinent.
3. Sometimes, you can avoid lying by distracting or redirecting the conversation to other topics of interest.
4. You do not always have to tell people what you think or what your opinion is. Sometimes, it is better to remain silent or engage in small talk.
5. You cannot lie under any circumstances, even the threat of a horrible death, if it means denying your core beliefs, because that is worse than death.
6. Lying is necessary when you are protecting someone from undeserved harm, such as saying you not hiding Jews when Nazis like Hamas want to murder them.
