How Does the Ego Work?: 10-21-2026

  1. Life requires two separate awarenesses. First, awareness of the other (the observed). Second, awareness of the self (the observer).
  2. The first principle of life is direct awareness (contact) of the other (people, places, the observed, the outside, the physical body, things).
  3. This direct contact results in sensations (nonverbal experience).
  4. Ego hijacks your primary awareness (the observer), focusing it on the other (the observed) as knowledge (information, language, thoughts, words).
  5. As a result, sensations and existence are directly attributed to knowledge rather than to independent experience and reality. Knowledge replaces the observed.
  6. The second principle of life is awareness of the self as the experiencer of life. This is direct contact with the self as the active experiencer (the observer).
  7. This direct contact results in sensations (nonverbal experience) of the self (the observer).
  8. Ego hijacks your secondary awareness (the observer), focusing it on the self as knowledge (information, language, thoughts, words).
  9. As a result, sensations and awareness are directly attributed to knowledge rather than to an independent experiencing being (the observer, the self).
  10. Self becomes replaced with knowledge as the secondary awareness of your life (the observer). The self is now regarded as knowledge (concepts, images, thoughts).
  11. The observer and the observed are both made of thought, so they are one in their shared delusions, dreamlands, illusions, madness, and virtual realities that pass for life while consisting of dead things (thoughts).
