  1. We are more self-defeating than we are defeated by others or circumstances.
  2. We are more self-disturbing than we are disturbed by others or circumstances.
  3. We are more self-debilitating than we are debilitated by others or circumstances.
  4. We are more self-discouraging than we are discouraged by others or circumstances.
  5. We are more self-demotivating than we are demotivated by others or circumstances.
  6. We are more self-disempowering than we are disempowered by others or circumstances.
  7. Worrying is trying to cross bridges before you come to them, making it self-defeating.
